How to Enable Automatic Logon in Windows XP

If you’re the sole user of your computer and want to skip the login screen in Windows XP for convenience, you can enable automatic logon. This feature allows you to bypass the login prompt and directly access your desktop upon startup. Follow these simple steps to set up automatic logon:

  1. Click Start: From the Windows XP desktop, click on the Start button located at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  2. Run Command: In the Start menu, locate the ‘Run’ option and click on it. This will open a dialog box where you can type commands.
  3. Open Registry Editor: In the Run dialog box, type ‘regedit’ and press Enter. This will launch the Windows Registry Editor.
  4. Navigate to the Registry Key: In the Registry Editor, navigate to ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon’.
